1. Before installing the butterfly valve, verify that the product specifications and the direction of flow indicated by the arrow are consistent with the operating conditions. Clean the interior of the valve thoroughly; no impurities or foreign objects must be present on the seal ring or disc. Under no circumstances should the disc be closed before cleaning to avoid damaging the seal ring.
2. For the flanges used to mount the disc, it is recommended to use flanges specifically designed for butterfly valves, namely HGJ54-91 socket-weld steel flanges.
3. The optimal installation position within the pipeline is vertical; the valve must not be installed upside down.
4. A worm gearbox is provided for flow regulation during operation.
5. For butterfly valves subject to frequent opening and closing, the worm gearbox cover should be opened approximately every two months to check the grease level; ensure an adequate amount of grease is maintained.
6. Ensure that all connection points are tightly secured; this ensures the tightness of the packing and guarantees the smooth rotation of the valve stem.
7. Metal-seated butterfly valves are not suitable for installation at the end of a pipeline. If installation at the end of a pipeline is unavoidable, an outlet flange must be fitted to prevent the sealing ring from being compressed or over-extended.
8. Regularly inspect the valve’s performance during operation and rectify any faults promptly.
